Publishing publications
Boomdoc is the online publishing platform of Boom uitgevers Den Haag. Many publications are published on and/or downloaded from Boomdoc every day.
Boomdoc enables you to make publications available to a large audience. Any publication that you publish on Boomdoc can be downloaded for free by other users.
Publishing publications on Boomdoc
Once you have registered as a Boomdoc user, you can easily add your publications to Boomdoc. When you click on the “Publish” button at the top of your screen, you are redirected to the upload page.
File format
Boomdoc effortlessly converts any printable publication (e.g. PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint) into a publication that can be opened in the Boomdoc reader. This makes it easy to share publications with users who do not have the appropriate software to open the original publication (e.g. Word). Instead, they can open these publications using the Boomdoc reader (free download, Adobe Flash). Boomdoc makes it easy to publish your publications on the internet, making them quickly and easily accessible to everyone.
We recommend that you upload publications in PDF format. PDF publications can be read on most computers, e-readers and mobile phones. They are also easy to print and of higher quality than most other file formats. You can convert Word, PowerPoint or other types of publications to PDF in Microsoft Office (from version 2007) or using the free OpenOffice suite. There are also many free programs available online, such as doPDF and Free PDF Convert.
On the upload page, click on the “Upload your publication” button at the top of the screen and select the publication you want to upload. Once your publication has been uploaded, you will be redirected to a page where you can enter the title of the publication and select the appropriate category (and subcategory). In order to make it easy to find your publication, it is important to submit a good summary and the right tags (i.e. keywords that can be linked to your publication).
Account
In your account, you can always see which publications you have uploaded. You can change the properties of your publications – including title, category, tags and description – at any time.
