Printing on demand
Boomdoc users can choose to download publications (as PDF files) or receive them in book form.
For the paper version, Boomdoc makes use of print on demand (POD). Under this system, a book is only printed after the customer has ordered it. One advantage of this is that Boomdoc does not need to keep publications in stock.
Boomdoc uses a different standardised cover for each subject category. The body text of POD publications is only in black and white, whereas the body text of downloaded publications is in full colour. The standard size of POD publications is 17 x 24 cm.
